Toys In The Attic Lyrics
Light voices scream nothing seems...real's a dream
Leaving the things that you learned behind
Leaving the things that you love behind
All of the things that you learned were real
Nothing except for the years
Voices scream, nothing seems...real's a dream
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys
Light voices scream nothing seems...real's a dream
Leaving the things that you love behind
Leaving the things that you learned behind
All of the things that you learned were real
Nothing except for the years
Voices scream, nothing seems...real's a dream
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Leaving the things that you learned behind
Leaving the things that you love behind
All of the things that you learned were real
Nothing except for the years
Voices scream, nothing seems...real's a dream
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys
Leaving the things that you love behind
Leaving the things that you learned behind
All of the things that you learned were real
Nothing except for the years
Voices scream, nothing seems...real's a dream
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys in the attic
Toys, toys, toys in the attic

Turns out that this is a cover of an Aerosmith song. It was on dead letter office. Not a bad album, but they should have left originals to their own bands. Ah well.
Cowboy Bebop episode 11.....12.....ring any bells?
I don't think REM spends much time watching Anime, though i could be wrong...
When you're dreaming of attics, it's supposed to be where you keep all of your accomplisments. This song looks like the character* is learning to let go of subconcious aprehensions or suppositions.
The first line in the stanza doesn't make sense to me.
*Character is almost nonexistant in this song. There's no subject except the occasional "you," making this song fragment-y. The vauge, fragment-y-ness makes it very... weird.
