If I could see the sky above
And my mind could be set free
As wild white horses reached the shore
I'd stand alone and oversee

And if the bush before me burns
Should I turn my eyes away
And still the voices I can hear
As clear to me as light of day

I believed in my dreams
Nothing could change my mind
Now I know what they mean
How could I be so blind

Cold sands of time
(Winds that blow as cold as ice
Sounds that come in the night)
Shall hide what is left of me
(Come from Paradise)

I've been through times when no one cared
(Words that were mine)
I've seen clouds in empty skies
When one kind word meant more to me
(Shall last as a memory)
Than all the love in Paradise

I believed in my dreams
Nothing could change my mind
Till I found what they mean
Nothing can save me now

Isn't this song really titled "To one _in_ paradise"? Really good song, btw.

I think this is an awesome song. I can't see why there aren't more comments on this and all the other Alan Parsons Project Songs.

Here is another APP song that sounds FAR better in context than alone. Alone, it's just ok - after the Ligetti tone clusters in the song before it (basically think of an orchestra rioting), it IS paradise. That was done purposely. In context, the song is just a dream after your nightmare. What would it be like to have all the answers for once in life? To never care if you were liked or hated. To find that you were wrong about the world and that everything was groovy? Well, between the 'aaahhhhs' of the chorus, the soft main vocal, and the arpeggiated chorused guitar - if it's not paradise, it certainly sounds like it is. I love this song - but especially when I've heard the whole work before it!

    My Opinion
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It can always put me at ease. I picture someone traveling in a relatively slowly moving spacecraft, hovering not far from the earth's (or some other planet's) surface. The scenery goes from clouds just around sunrise to night time. It makes me want to cry I love it so much.
