Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter Lyrics
Mrs. Brown you've got a lovely daughter
Girls as sharp as her are something rare
But it's sad
She doesn't love me now
She's made it clear enough
It ain't no good to fight
She wants to return those things I bought her
Tell her she can keep them just the same
Things have changed
She doesn't love me now
She's made it clear enough
It ain't no good to fight
Walking about
Even in a crowd, well
You'll pick her out
Makes a bloke feel so proud
If she finds that I've been round to see you
(round to see you)
Tell her that I'm well and feeling fine
(feeling fine)
Don't let up
(ohhh)
Don't say she's broke me heart
(ohhh)
I'd go down on my knees but it's no good to fight
Walking about
Even in a crowd, well
You'll pick her out
Makes a bloke feel so proud
If she finds that I've been round to see you
(round to see you)
Tell her that I'm well and feeling fine
(feeling fine)
Don't let up
(ohhh)
Don't say she's broke me heart

This is such a great love song...One of the few that is about a relationship that is over and the guy knows it. He will never get his true love back and can only lament to her mother who lends a sympathetic ear. Very sad, and a classic. I think he says "pine" not "fight".
umm..i love all these British Invasion songs..theyre so fun!
for some weird reason i could sing this song to my ex's mom and it would fit perfectly
i'm in the same boat Drumen
I think kaleidoscopeeyes8 is right.
Kinda the soundtrack of my love life. I know it means about a guy getting his heart trampled on and lameting to the girl's mother and all.
'Pine'
NOT 'fight' its 'pine'
For fun, Peter Noone did a darkly hilarious spoof version of this song on the Howard Stern show called DON'T HAVE LUNCH WITH JEFFREY DAHMER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EofrlAI-wtk
