Start All Over Lyrics

And all this dreaming drive me crazy
But is it dreaming if it's all I ever do?
The days are bleeding they just run together
The nights are cold in the deep of Minnesota
From where I lie I can see the airport
Oh I watch them land and I see them leave
So many things that I've never done
So much ends before it's begun

And I'm so tired I could cry
I'm so tired I lie awake at night
Watchin’ the moonlight circle my head
It's just about as blue as blue can get
When I get out of this bed
Start all over

And Mississippi sun doesn't shine this far north
I'm dreaming of peaches and bare tanned knees
A place that's warm where they just let you be
Where you can stay forever ‘cuz the rent is free

And I'm so tired I could cry
I' m so tired I lie awake at night
Watching the moonlight circle my head
It's just about as blue as blue can get
When I get out of this bed
it's gonna start all over one more time

Start all over
Start all over
Watchin’ the moonlight circle my head
It's just about as blue as blue can get
When I get out of this bed
it's gonna start all over

Moonlight circlin’ my head
It's just about as blue as blue can get
When I get out of this bed
Gonna start all over
And hooo yah
Ohooo yah

Cover art for Start All Over lyrics by Shannon Mcnally

Recently, I used this song for my English final to describe disappointment. My interpretation of "Start All Over" is how everything will remain the same once the person wakes up. Nothing will change; life will still be full of disappointment. We can dream of "bare-tanned knees" and places where "the rent is free," but they are impossible dreams to reach. It'll never be. Everything will start all over again... and remain the same.
