Daintier, smarter, better dressed!
Daintier, smarter, better dressed!
Daintier, smarter, better dressed!
AntiqueHighHeelRedDollShoes

Metal head, mohair wig, rubber pants, I cry I dance,
Daintier, smarter, better dressed!
AntiqueHighHeelRedDollShoes.
Rosy cheek and ruby lip, better than banana split.
Daintier, smarter, better dressed!
AntiqueHighHeelRedDollShoes.

Mohair wig in afro style, very scary little smile.
Fully fexible, you see? Is there one as sweet as me?
Daintier, smarter, better dressed!
AntiqueHighHeelRedDollShoes.

Pick me up for heaven sakes.
Aren't I your baby-cakes?
Don't fall for little fakes.
Aren't I your baby-cakes?

Daintier, smarter, better dressed!
Daintier, smarter, better dressed!
Daintier, smarter, better dressed!
AntiqueHighHeelRedDollShoes.

I love that line, "Aren't I your baby-cakes?" Hmm.. to me this song brings up the image of someone dancing in the middle of a club, wanting someone to pick them up, and relying on that one piece of clothing (antique high heel red doll shoes) that will attract someone to them. They're thinking about all the things they have to offer (Dantier, smarter, better dressed!) and wanting someone to take notice.

I agree- it's definately a sort of pick-up scene... I can see a catty girl making snide comments about other girls, trying so hard to be the best... it's such a cool song.

The word is Daintier. Spell check next time.

I love Rasputina. I think this was the first song I heard.

I actually picture a little girl playing dress up when I listen to this song.

No, these lyrics are off. Although English is not my first language, and it's really hard to make out all of the lyrics. Nevertheless, this is such a fun and great song!

Melora herself said that this song is written about an ebay listing for antique high heel red doll shoes, and the lyrics are taken from a 1980 doll catalogue.

"I got the song title from an eBay listing for antique high heel red doll shoes and I got the rest of the words for that song from a doll catalogue from the 1920's."

It was just something she did for fun. Probably just to fill up the album.
