Year Of The Knife Lyrics
Hallelujah, the king is dead. He said
" Love was the knife "
And now he'll dream some magic queen might try and save his life
They say his famous final words
Came from the heart of the man
He made his bed on love denied
He played Jeckyll and Hyde till the day he died
Too late for the young gun
To lead a simple life
Too late for the young gun
This is the year of the knife
See the mountains crumble
Feel the fire go cold
Summer will turn to winter
Love will turn to stone
They say his famous final words
Came from the heart of man
I made his bed on love denied
Now I ain't gonna sleep tonight
Too late for the young gun
To lead a simple life
Too late for the young gun
This is the year of the knife
" Love was the knife "
And now he'll dream some magic queen might try and save his life
They say his famous final words
Came from the heart of the man
He made his bed on love denied
He played Jeckyll and Hyde till the day he died
To lead a simple life
Too late for the young gun
Feel the fire go cold
Summer will turn to winter
Love will turn to stone
Came from the heart of man
I made his bed on love denied
Now I ain't gonna sleep tonight
To lead a simple life
Too late for the young gun

this song shows how someone is too far in to a mess to ever have a life of there own. never make decisions when angry.
i honestly don't care what this song is about because it is so climatic. but if i had to guess, i would say it is about a two faced back stabber. u will never get ahead if u make everyone your enemy in one way or another.
It's about moments in your life when everything is turned upside down and it all seems a life to death struggle, although it's not. And how rejection can stab you in the back.
Beautiful song, every time I hear it I imagine myself in a staduim, being part of the experience
It's very shakespear-ian and reminds me soo much of MacBeth.
I believe this song is about Rolands father and Roland is the young gun.
