Swords And Knives Lyrics
A waking world of innocence
So grave those first born cries
When life begins with needles and pins
It ends with Swords and Knives
Oh dangerman, oh dangerman
Your blade fits like a glove
When forged in steel
Time cannot heal
That blood red bond of love
In times of trouble you're an open book
With the change in the way you look
And its sad love's not enough to make things better
Turn the tables, we'll burn the fables
Lies beneath the visions and daydreams
Fooled by now, we mystify the past
Like a dream, like it never happened
When life begins with needles and pins
It ends with Swords and Knives
God save those born to die
So grave those first born cries
When life begins with needles and pins
It ends with Swords and Knives
Your blade fits like a glove
When forged in steel
Time cannot heal
That blood red bond of love
With the change in the way you look
And its sad love's not enough to make things better
Lies beneath the visions and daydreams
Fooled by now, we mystify the past
Like a dream, like it never happened
It ends with Swords and Knives
God save those born to die

I always think this song is about being born into difficult circumstances, and how, if not addressed, they only exacerbate the circumstances. Needles and pins at the beginning to swords and knives at the end.
Roland Orzabel was well known as having an unorthodox childhood, maybe this song is a reference.
@DJDisco This is from Wikipedia about the song: The track "Swords and Knives" was originally written for the 1986 film Sid and Nancy (about the relationship between Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen), but was rejected by the filmmakers for not being "punk" enough.

this song to me is about when you seem to have the upper hand, but it is all taken away from you and realized you had walked right into a trap. so much work undone at such a critical point. but, you have to remember you have friends that will help you out, even if they take more than 18 fucking episodes to show up
