When I Get Home Lyrics

Whoa-ho, whoa-ho,
I got a whole lot of things to tell her,
When I get home.
Come on, I’m on my way,
‘Cos I’m gonna see my baby today,
I’ve got a whole lot of things I’ve gotta say to her.
Whoa-ho, whoa-ho,
I got a whole lot of things to tell her,
When I get home.
Come on, if you please,
I’ve got no time for trivialities,
I’ve got a girl who’s waiting home for me tonight.
Whoa-ho, whoa-ho,
I got a whole lot of things to tell her,
When I get home.
When I’m getting home tonight, I’m gonna hold her tight,
I’m gonna love her till the cows come home,
I bet I’ll love her more,
Till I walk out that door - again.
Come on, let me through,
I’ve got so many things I’ve got to do,
I’ve got no business being here with you this way.
Whoa-ho, whoa-ho,
I got a whole lot of things to tell her,
When I get home - Yeah.

I agree johnisawesome! I just actually listened to the lyrics of this song and it shocked me because it's about a man cheating on his girl.

He's with the other women and he's telling her why he needs to leave and get out of the situation because he has a girl at home and he needs to tell her the truth about cheating but first to clear his consciousness he's going to go home and make love to her and tell her he loves her, until the next time he leaves and he knows he's going to do the same thing again.

Makes me think John wrote this from personal happenings...

I think this song is about someone already thinking about what he's gonna do (maybe sexual fantasies) with his girlfriend when he comes home to her.

Wow, I thought this song was nice, but then I heard the "I got no business being here with you this way" part and now I'm ANGRY! Jeez. Okay, so I'm thinking this is about a guy who has a problem with cheating. He's with some other girl, and the "moment", the good part about them together, has gone away and he's feeling guilty. So now he's thinking "Oh, I really need to go home and make it up to my baby." So, he's kind of fantasizing, but not in a good way, more of in a way he thinks will drive away his guilt. Also, he says "I bet I’ll love her more, Till I walk out that door - again" which makes me think that he knows that he'll get home and be so happy to be with his girl, but when he leaves the house again, he won't find her as satisfying.

This song saddens me.

Lovely song choice today. The story of one's life, only there has to be a relationship to be "cheating." Some people are delusional. Happy Holidays.
