My Religion Lyrics
There's nothing wrong with tradition
But tell me where it says not to follow our hearts
That's why so many of us are so confused
And we'll never live up to your rules
My religion doesn't hate
It will never turn you away
It always understands
My religion won't condemn
Always lends a healing hand
It's love, my religion's love
All it takes is to be willing
To sacrifice for someone who is in need
And then we can begin to heal again
And love will sweep the land
My religion doesn't hate
It will never turn you away
It always understands
My religion won't condemn
Always lends a healing hand
It's love, my religion's love
.....my religion, my religion
.....my, my religion, my religion is love
That's why so many of us are so confused
And we'll never live up to your rules
My religion doesn't hate
It will never turn you away
It always understands
My religion won't condemn
Always lends a healing hand
It's love, my religion's love
(Repeat 1x)
My religion is love

Can't believe this song has no comments yet. Such a good song. Basically talking about how religion is becoming more about right and wrong - and there is no space to argue about it. Tradition tells us that certain things are wrong, and that if we question it, we are evil and horrible. We see hypocrisy and legalism in religion and we are confused what it's all really about. We confuse the message and religion becomes a vehicle for hate. Instead, it should be about love. Love should be our guide to right and wrong. When we question, we should side with love.
