Vacant Planets Lyrics

Mysterious objects of flight on a voyage
To correct what they have done, what we are doing
Perhaps submerged, living in the inner most
Recesses of the planet
No choice but
To adapt to an underground world

Limiting our passages of thought
Are they examples of regression
A life form's abusive progression
In a realm so vast
We sit among the vacant
Planets

So many worlds yet to be seen that once have shared
The same effects that come from greed, mass production
Perhaps submerged, living in the inner most
Recesses of the planet
No choice but
To adapt to an underground world

Limiting our passages of thought
Are they examples of regression
A life form's abusive progression
In a realm so vast
We sit among the vacant
Planets

What the hell! This song is too heavy to deserve the barren wasteland that is the amount of comments it has recieved! I feel that this song is about the ignorance of our own race, in the context of how so many people believe that Earth is the only planet with any life to be had, which is complete bullshit...unless, of course, you're closed-minded. But closed-minded is no one who listens to Death...am I correct, or am I screaming at a brick wall? Anyways, back onto the subject, this song seems to highlight the fact that since we live in a world that is so large, and the Earth is only a small percentage of its containing solar-system, that the universe of which the Milky Way is held in, can only be one tiny part of the whole multiverse. It's quite mind-blowing when you really think about it.

My two cents baby. goodbye!

It's about what havana4sale wrote, but I also believe its about how the human planet ruins the planet by simply living modern day life - "The same effects that come from greed, mass production". He suggests that there will be a price to pay - a vacant planet, or a planet with a destroyed surface. And maybe the planets that surround us are vacant because their inhabitants destroyed them , and we never learned the lesson ?

@Cynicoren i also want to add: i think the first verse is about ufos flying around earth, correcting what they have done, and to make sure we are not doing the same thing, and these aliens are hiding deep in earth.

I think the two comments above have hit the nail on the head. Awesome song, can't believe there are only 3 comments!

This is EASILY one of the best songs by Death. Granted that all of them are AMAZING. I think its about mankind's ignorance, like havana4sale.
