Till There Was You (Meredith Wilson cover) Lyrics
There were bells on a hill
But I never heard them ringing
No, I never heard them at all
'Til there was you
There were birds in the sky
But I never saw them winging
No, I never saw them at all
'Til there was you
Then there was music and wonderful roses
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows
Of dawn and dew
There was love all around
But I never heard it singing
No, I never heard it at all
'Til there was you
Then there was music and wonderful roses
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows
Of dawn and dew
There was love all around
But I never heard it singing
No, I never heard it at all
'Til there was you
'Til there was you
But I never heard them ringing
No, I never heard them at all
'Til there was you
But I never saw them winging
No, I never saw them at all
'Til there was you
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows
Of dawn and dew
But I never heard it singing
No, I never heard it at all
'Til there was you
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows
Of dawn and dew
But I never heard it singing
No, I never heard it at all
'Til there was you
'Til there was you

one of their cutest songs
When I was really small my mom sang this song to put me to sleep. Its about how much you can love someone, and how you can walk through the world blindly, then suddenly someone comes into your life to open your eyes to the world. Suddenly, you can see everything crystal clear and life means so much more. Great, great, great song.
It's a cover version of a song from the musical "The Music Man". Paul liked this song, so they included it among the Beatles originals on the album
This song is very deep. It is a love song obviously but it says much more than the common oh I love you songs. It gives a meaning to what love really is and means. In this song the beatles say yes there were beautiful things in the world like birds, music, and all of the other beautiful things that mother nature provides, but it wasn't until love hits that you realize these things and truely appreciate them.
Almost nobody knows it, but this song was written by a brazilian composer.
Willson, apparently. I can't recall his nationality off the top of my head. It definitely has that South American vibe to it...
it just rocks the best song ever
Meredith Wilson wasn't Brazilian. He was born in Iowa (pretty ironic because that's where "The Music Man" takes place.) Anyhoo, it's about Harold Hill and Marian Paroo declaring their love for one another. Harold is the charming con artist and Marian the Librarian is the hard-to-get woman.
this is such a great song. shows the true depth of someone's feelings when they're in love. you begin to realize all the beautiful things around you after you've found someone beautiful. 'there was love all around, but i never heard it singing. no i never heard it at all, til there was you'
Well The Music Man is one of my all time fave musicals, I was in the pit orchestra when my high school did it my junior year and this is from the footbridge love scene in the moive if I recall correctly (its been four years ago!) and my fave band singing the song, doesn't get much better eh? Any way....I take it as being a song that describes the essence of what love really is, something that makes everything seem brighter all over.
