Jump They Say Lyrics
When comes the shaking man
A nation in his eyes
Striped with blood and emblazed tattoo
Streaking cathedral spire
They say
he has no brain
They say
he has no mood
They say
he was born again
They say
look at him climb
They say 'Jump'
They say
he has two gods
They say
he has no fear
They say
he has no eyes
They say
he has no mouth
They say hey that's really something
They feel he should get some time
I say he should watch his arse
My friend don't listen to the crowd
They say 'Jump'
Got to believe somebody
Got to believe
A nation in his eyes
Striped with blood and emblazed tattoo
Streaking cathedral spire
he has no brain
They say
he has no mood
They say
he was born again
They say
look at him climb
he has two gods
They say
he has no fear
They say
he has no eyes
They say
he has no mouth
They feel he should get some time
I say he should watch his arse
My friend don't listen to the crowd
Got to believe

About his schizophrenic half brother Terry who jumped from a railway platform in front of an oncoming train with rather obvious results. Terry was plagued by a crowd of spli personalities and voices in his head and it's a plea to him to "ignore" them.
Wow, now that's talent, making a song about a tragedy and having it still be danceable! I kind of figured it was about suicide, but never knew it was his half-brother. It's still got a great groove.
His brother introduced him to a lot of music that made him want to become a musician, for that, I am thankful. RIP Terry and RIP David......
Remember watching this video in the 90s when I was a kid, disturbing, deep but always arty! Hard song about how society puts you to the limit, even if they tend you to commit suicide or following eugenesic reasons; RIP Bowie, the art comes true.
Watching the wonderful and paranoid video, this song is about how extreme capitalism can put you to the limit to earn money and how you can explode with it, surrounded by enemies who wants to be promoted and some of them even destroy you.
Cool music video too
I've just watched the video, for the first time. And I was astonished to see a man with a French cop hat. . Does anyone know if the action happens in France, and why ? Any way,we can see that social classes that have influence are represented after the crash on the car: we can see a policeman, a priest, a tourist (the cliché of the Japan photographer), uptown girl,a businessman.
