Can you take me back where I came from?
Can you take me back?
Can you take me back where I came from?
Brother, can you take me back?
Can you take me back?
Mm, can you take me where I came from?
Can you take me back?
Can you take me back?
Can you take me back where I came from?
Brother, can you take me back?
Can you take me back?
Mm, can you take me where I came from?
Can you take me back?

Paul McCartney often has the theme of returning home. "Once there was a way, to get back homeward…" on Abbey Road "As he carries me home to the Mull of Kintyre" In interveiws he said his initial reluctance to participate in LSD experiments with fellow Beatles was due to his understanding that once it is taken, things would never be the same again, in his own words "there would be no way back home". This short track, almost a lament as jaZZjaZZ54 suggests, can perhaps be interpreted as a White Album era McCartney starting to weary of the Beatlemania and longing for a return to simpler times.
