Wait it's late
we've missed the date
Gone, I guess, with the rest
They'll never wake us in time
They'll never wake us in time
Maybe we'll wait 'til July
Now at last I hear them pass
Gone, I guess, with the rest
They'll never wake us in time
They'll never wake us in time
Maybe we'll wait 'til July
Then August
September
October
November
Or December
we've missed the date
Gone, I guess, with the rest
They'll never wake us in time
Maybe we'll wait 'til July
Gone, I guess, with the rest
They'll never wake us in time
Maybe we'll wait 'til July
Then August
September
October
November
Or December

what a lovely song
It probably says more about me than it says about the song, but to me it's about a nuclear exchange during the Cold War. I always feared there'd be a nuclear war at night, and there'd be no way for the government to warn anyone, 'cause everyone woulda been asleep. You are lucky you didn't grow up back then.
