I think this song is about a guy who put his career, or you could say his love of music over his woman. She eventually got fed up and left him, and he's saying all these changes are what split them
this is a great song, it's been awhile since such a good soul album has benn put out.
I love this song... I've never really liked Soul music, but this is really cool.
i agree with rick on this song, but it could also mean that he's actually living life now, and maybe he's realized that there is more to life than love, he doesn't have to worry about his gf just living life, he's doin what he loves, playing music and keeping fans like us happy and satisfied.
Sounds like he can't be with the woman for some reason, like he has other obligations.
