Strangled With A Halo Lyrics
Religion in the corner of my eye.
A peeping tom and a hole in the sky.
The last stall on the left as our makeshift confession booth.
Your parents will never know.
Stalked by child's nightmare.
The promise of serpents in the tall grass.
Mother I've been raped in the shadow of a watchtower.
A peeping tom and a hole in the sky.
The last stall on the left as our makeshift confession booth.
Your parents will never know.
Stalked by child's nightmare.
The promise of serpents in the tall grass.
Mother I've been raped in the shadow of a watchtower.

“A hole in the sky” -a hole in religion that something as terrible as rape can happen to a kid with god watching (“in the shadow of the watchtower”)
I have to go into more detail b/c these lyrics are just too incredible and poignant.
“Religion in the corner of my eye” Introduces the protagonist as a kid who is vaguely religious (it is implied that he was simply raised that way in the last line)
“A peeping tom and a hole in the sky, The last stall on the left as our makeshift confession booth, your parents will never know, stalked by child’s nightmare, the promise of serpents in the tall grass” The child is raped
“Mother I’ve been raped in the shadow of a watchtower” The kid feels betrayed by the god that he was raised to believe would protect him.
“Strangled With A Halo” Betrayed by religion
