Nothing But You Lyrics

I think I'll go for a walk,
Maybe out in the rain
Maybe let the tears roll down my face and not feel the pain
Maybe think about something,
maybe think about you

Yea, you can't hurt me now,
You know you can't hurt me now
You can't hold me down,

(course)
And I got plenty of time
Time to figure it out
Time to think about You and me,
Whatever that was all about.
I've got nothing to prove,
I've got nothing to say,
No, i guess I never thought you were good for me anyway
I've got nothing lose
Nothing but you.

I think I'll go for a ride,
Untill my memory fades
Roll down the the windows and glide down seventy-five to the Everglades
Maybe light up a joint,
And take a walk on the moon

Yeah, you can't reach me now
You know you can't touch me now
You can't hold me down

(course)

Nothing but you....

Why do you have to be so unkind?
Why do i have to be so inclined,
To lose my mind?
Well I got plenty of time

Time to figure it out
Time to think about you and me
Whatever that was all about
Got nothing to prove
Got nothing to say,
No, I guess I never thought you were good for me anyway.
I got nothing to lose...
Nothing but you
Oh, nothing but you
And, no, nothing...

I love the line "time to think about you and me, whatever that was all about" - reminds me of way too many of my "relationships" with certain boys. You just look back on certain things and think, "what was UP with that?" It's a song about mostly moving on from somebody, knowing that that person really wasn't too good for you, but still being unable to extinguish that little bit of you that still feels something ...

To me, this song makes me think of when u've broke up with a guy and u get to the point where you realise that you don't need him, but in a way it still hurts...

Love it! It sounds to me like she's broken up with someone and she's trying to get over it at the beginning by letting herself cry but then she's also saying he hasn't really hurt her and she's trying to distract herself by going out and driving, having a joint by way of escapism. My favourite line is "No, I guess I never thought you were good for me anyway". It sounds like she's really trying hard to convince herself that she's better off without him.

This is by far the best song from the Buffy the Vampire Soundtrack CD (of the 12 I've listened to so far at least) with a great hook, catchy tune and incredible, meaningful lyrics...I loved it and I was simultaneously grateful it didn't apply at all to me in my present relatioship.....maxcue@gmail.com

i always listen to this song when im in the car by myself... every time i listen its like a whole journey. i feel there's a girl who is so independant... she knows it.. the people around her know it... shes willing to be open about how shit she feels... and she knows that she can over come it... shes showing the world she can! but then at the end she realises that shes not kidding anyone... its not about showing that you're over someone. its about having real feelings.. and not being afraid of them.

why cant i have a relationship? whats wrong with you?, hey, whats wrong with me?

This is truly heartbreaking song. It is definitely about moving on, yet to me it is more about convincing yourself that you have to move - "I guess I never thought you were good for me anyway". At first she seems quite casual and confident - he can't reach her anymore, yet with every line she seems more and more broken. When she says "I've got plenty of time..." it kind of seems like she knows she's moved on with her body, yet her heart and mind will need much more time. It also seems that her ride and smoking a joint doesn't seem like causal thing to relax, but a way to escaping her thoughts and giving herself a moment to forget.

The most heartbreaking is the last verse thou. When she says she's got nothing to loose but "him" it kind of sounds like it is only him, but it is all she really wants.

I remember this song from Buffy, the vampire slayer. It perfectly describes her relationship with Angel...well not only that.
