This was probably a sarcastic and ironic response to all those rumors about albums you could play backwards to hear Satantic messages. If you play this song backwards, it tells you to praise God and accept Jesus!
Very funny. Danny knew what he was doing with the backwards messages. Either that or he didn't know and it all worked out for him anyway.
The first time I heard this I laughed my ass off. This is tied for best satanic message parody with Weird Al Yankovic's "Nature Trail To Hell" (Satan eats cheeze whiz)
Humans have a tendency to make the unusual somehow familiar. When presented with backwards music, it does sound different, and a lot of the sounds can sound unintentionally different from their meaning. What's even more fun is when you listen to this forwards, it sounds like Danny is speaking in some far eastern language.
I think I should also point out on the inner sleeve of Good for Your Soul LP the lyrics were listed as follows: Wow Ah
