It Doesn't Make It Alright Lyrics
Just because you're nobody
It doesn't mean that you're no good
Just because there's a reason
It doesn't mean it's understood
It doesn't make it alright
It doesn't make it alright
It's the worst excuse in the world
And it, it doesn't make it alright
Some people think they're really clever
To smash your head against the wall
Then they say "you got it my way"
They really think they know it all
It doesn't make it alright
It doesn't make it alright
It's the worst excuse in the world
And it, it doesn't make it alright
Just because you're a black boy
Just because you're a white
It doesn't mean you've got to hate him
It doesn't mean you've got to fight
It doesn't make it alright
It doesn't make it alright
It's the worst excuse in the world
And it, it doesn't make it alright
Just because you're nobody
It doesn't mean that you're no good
Just because there's a reason
It doesn't mean it's understood
It doesn't make it alright
It's the worst excuse in the world
And it, it doesn't make it alright
To smash your head against the wall
Then they say "you got it my way"
They really think they know it all
It doesn't make it alright
It's the worst excuse in the world
And it, it doesn't make it alright
Just because you're a white
It doesn't mean you've got to hate him
It doesn't mean you've got to fight
It doesn't make it alright
It's the worst excuse in the world
And it, it doesn't make it alright

i love this song, its amazing. a very calm and relaxing song. i suppose it's about discrimination to anyone
This is one of my all-time favourite Specials songs. The vocals just seem to fit with the lyrics so well.
This song was actually written by Jake Burns, the lead singer of Stiff Little Fingers, for the Specials. Lynval Golding and Jake Burn were good friends and Golding went on to write "Break Out", one of the best Stiff Little Fingers songs there is.
I can't find any evidence to support the statement above by Ghost that the song was actually written by Jake Burn of the Stiff Little Fingers. According to the 2nd LP by SLF, which covers the Specials song, it was written by Dammers of the Specials (and 2 others). We should consider this statement questionable until Ghost can offer any evidence. If he can, I'll delete my own comment. Thus, I would consider this great song a Dammers song unless evidence to the contrary emerges.
