Love this song!

It's about how during the 1990s there was a massive surge in the number of publications available on magazine shelves, you could get magazines on making cakes to making war, from models with matchsticks to models that look like matchsticks.

"From the absurd to the obscene"

The darker side is that they paint these wonderful images, that your life will not be complete unless you live like these people in these magazine.

"All of life in fun size...And you can win this great prize"

Everything's wonderful and the magazine only cares about the subject it discusses the rest of your life means nothing when compared to the subject in the magazine, very narrow field of view in a magazine.

"It's just like the real thing...But better looking"

Ultimately you never get anything from them though, they are just to kill time and most of the time they are a waste of time.
