Come September

I heard this song, and the situation i was in at the time..just made me go WOW. this is my song. It is very much about love. It reminds me of a year long love, and loosin someone in the summer..and the summer of grief. THen comes september, and everything is going to be alrite again..like a fresh new start.

It is all about the feeling of losing somone you love and the emprty feeling that there is part of you missing. Cinderella is the perfect girl with the lovely storybook relationship that just crumbles beneath her leaving her utterly lost but in the end she will be fine "Everything wrong, gonna be right. Come September." when the summer is over and fall begins she well be able to move on because she is not so perfect after all.

I took this song to mean...that summer only causes problems, and when september rolls around and people return to school..then everything is alrite..get me? :)

I strongly agree with K40436c's opinion here. It's an awful summer, yet at the same time she knows she's got to do this. "Her violet skies will need to cry, cause if it doesn't rain then everything will die" is basically saying that there has to be some sort of difficulty, some hardship, and some tears for a relationship to work. It can't be good all the time.

I think the songs about a relationship ending before a baby is born. Natalie Imbruglia's Australian so September isnt summer there, its spring. 'Her bones will ache Her mouth will shake And as the passion dies Her magic heart will break' After 'he's' gone shes all alone and the elation of finding out your having a baby subsides when she realises shes on her own now. 'Everything wrong Gonna be alright Come September ' Once the baby comes it will be better, 'Shining just for you Instead of everyone' Devoting her life to her child.

I love the "her violet sky will need to cry..."part.. i just love this song... when this idiot broke my heart, i listened to it over and over... my birthday is on september, so i just saw it as a new year will be here soon.. everything wrong's gonna be alright... to make me feel better...

To me I think It is totally about a girl who got her hart broken not necessarily in summer but before September. I think people are reading to much into the September aspect. So anyway the girl is hurt so she hides it and runs away ex. "She'll fly to France ‘Cause there's no chance", "She will run She's gonna drink the sun Shining just for you Instead of everyone And so it goes She'll stand alone And try not to remember "but instead Natalie is telling her it is OK to cry and hurt and you don't have to keep running because after time it will be OK come September it will be OK. ex: "Her violet sky Will need to cry ‘Cause if it doesn't rain Then everything will die She needs to heal She needs to feel" get it that's my take.

I might just be crazy, but this song has always reminded me of someone with a terminal illness. Like cancer. Let me explain: "Her bones will ache/Her mouth will shake" could be the physical symptoms of the illness or maybe chemo. "And as the passion dies/Her magic heart will break" Her passion for life is slowly draining away. "She’ll fly to France/‘Cause there’s no chance..." Doesn't France have some of the latest cancer treatments? I'm not sure about the "Her violet sky..." verse unless it's simply that she must accept what she has. "The souls that burn/Will twist and turn/And find you in the dark/No matter where you run" could refer that no matter what you do, you aren't going to get better. "She’s made her mark/But lost her spark/And what she’s pushing for/She can’t remember" could be about how something she's started in her life is unfinished. "She will run/She’s gonna drink the sun/Shining just for you/Instead of everyone/And so it goes/She’ll stand alone/And try not to remember/Come September" I think this is referring to when she passes on. I think the "Everything wrong/Gonna be alright/Come September" might refer to the amount of time she's been told she has. All the pain, the sadness, it's will all be gone Come September. I'm probably totally off base and reading too deep into this, but my aunt died of cancer and this song reminds me of the stuff that she went through. I can see the love/relationship angle as well. I do believe that songs should be interpreted on a personal level, and this is just my take. Food for thought.
