Hurricane Lyrics

It came on like a hurricane
And I don't understand
And moved it like a slow dance
Still I don't understand
It pushed me like a tailwind
And I don't understand
And it came in through the back door
And I don't understand
Still don't understand

You're all that I could be
And I'm falling on my knees

Hurricane
You pulled me out of the past
And landed me in today
Hurricane
You pulled me out of the past
And walked me into tomorrow
Hurricane

It picked me like a cherry
And I don't understand
And it killed me with the craving
Still I don't understand
It thrilled me to starvation
And I don't understand
And it stripped me ugly naked
Still I don't understand
no I don't understand

Hurricane
You pulled me out of the past
And landed me in today
Hurricane
You pulled me out of the past
And walked me into tomorrow
Hurricane

You're all that I could need
And I'm falling on my knees

You're all that I could be
(You're all that I could be)
And I'm falling on my knees
(And I'm falling on my knees)

Hurricane
You pulled me out of the past
And landed me in today
Hurricane

To me, this song can be about nothing but love. That's the 'it'. Natalie really expresses what falling in love does to you, it can be a confusing thing that just comes up behind you before you have a moment to notice. Love is like a hurricane.

Im a Christian, and when hearing this song, it made me think of it as the sin nature of life and how shes trapped in it.

And moved it like a slow dance Still I don’t understand It pushed me like a tailwind And I don’t understand And it came in through the back door And I don’t understand ^ in my opinion, its referring to what sin does to her, how it can move her, in a way, but yet push her in a way to do things she can't help but do.

It picked me like a cherry And I don’t understand And it killed me with the craving Still I don’t understand It thrilled me to starvation And I don’t understand And it stripped me ugly naked Still I don’t understand ^ Here referring as to sin found her, and wanted her, and she wanted it, but as all sin, we are all empty still when we have it in our lives, it doesn't fulfill us, and it just makes us feel littlier

I believe the Hurricane coulda been God's grace pullin her out of what she is trapped in, which is her sin. And shes explaining how she can have so much sin, but God is all she needs, and she falls down on her knees for Him.

but thats just how i take it..

Natalie confirmed that this song is about God/religion. And Love, of course.

I would say it describes her spiritual awakening.

I agree gweeps. :-)

This song is about a perfect boyfriend/friend coming into her life and making it all better.

This song reminds me of a love that I've fallen into that is akin to a religious experience.
