yeah great song, even if it is a little bit wrong.....
When I first heard this song, in about 1998, I had it on repeat for hours. Still today, 10 years on almost to the day I still don't tire of it. The corus used to remind me of another famous song but i've heard it too much now.
I think it's about having love and faith in your sister (or brother) - your friend, relative or lover rather than faith in religion. He gets everything (food, air etc) from his 'sister', and nothing from 'the lord'.
I always thought the corus should climb back up a key towards the end of loveeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr....
this song is brilliant, its got such power in the chorus, its a b-side from the Stand By Me single
I like this song, I find it funny for some sick reason :p
I read a while back that when Oasis started out they were the warm up for a band called "Sister Lovers" which might have been where Noel's phrase came from....
think it is a joke song tbh. either that or its using the term "sister" in that whole "we're all brothers and sisters" sense.
