    This is an amazing song, it seems to be very influenced by power ballads. Whether you agree with that or not its a great song.

    This is a very bluesy song (thanks to Clapton's beautiful guitar work). It is cleary about a man who was in a relationship with a girl and, for what ever reason, messed it up and caused the girl pain. ("You said you didn't need me in your life...") He says that he didn't mean to hurt her ("...you didn't need me in your life...") But he has ("but it looks like I did it again...") Though she is over him, he is still in love with her and this causes him pain ("though your hurt is gone, mines hanging on...") He wishes and hopes that she will give him a sign that she still loves him and wants to be with him ("I'm just waiting for a sign"). But in a sad, very sad moment of clarity he states, "But I know in my heart of hearts, I know I'm never gonna hold you again"... A beautiful song about love and pain and reality. I am sure we have all had times in our lives where we just wish it "would rain down on me".

    cant believe theres only 2 comments i love this song to me he hurt someone badly even though he loved her and now hes embarrased . she acts like she doesnt care"said you didnt need me in your life" when he realises what hes done to her hes hurt "though your hurt is gone mines hanging on" he still wants them to get back together "am just waitin on your sign"
