Punk Rock In The Wrong Hands Lyrics

I am a prisoner in a war of idiots. The stomping feet of waltzing hypocrites pave the way of a brave tomorrow. Choke the throat of passion and sorrow. Kill my drifting breeze of thought. I have been captured. I have been caught. I am a prisoner in a war of scowls, coughing youth from its bowels. I am doing fine. I am feeling well, deep inside my dark well cell.

Being in a punk rock band, being into punk rock, being into hardcore, doesn't mean jack shit, doesn't mean diddly squat, doesn't mean one fucking thing. You have to use your involvement to shock people. You have to get other people who don't know anything about punk rock. You have to get the butcher at the butcher shop. You have to get the local army recruiting officer. . . . You have to let them know that you think they are shit. . . .

"Waltzing hypocrites." That's so awesome. Obviously it's about those who mistakenly think commercial success can mix with punk rock. It's so easy to find bands today who claim they're punk but are selling millions of albums along with their own souls, and it's kind of funny...or upsetting, depending on how you look at it.
