Twist And Shout Lyrics

You`ve got a lot of
Tings to say about the
Big world and the
High skies so you
Walk a little in a
Long mile to be
Sure your eyes can see the
Right sights

I see a
Pale girl in a
Blue room with a
Pink dress and a
Wide smile I see a
Pale girl in a
Blue room with a
Pink dress and a
Wide smile

You`ve got a little
Way to go before you
Find the knowledge that you`re
Searching for so you`ll
Turn the big world
Upside down
To find the things that you
Never wanted

I see a
Pale girl in a
Blue room with a
Pink dress and a
Wide smile I need a
Pink smile on a
Dark night from the
Right girl to be
Sure it`s right

You`ve got three million things to get mad about
Another hundred things to get glad about
Junk food
The whole world over`s good as standing round
So baby twist and shout baby
Find out baby
Find out baby
Find out baby

So it`s April and the
Tings you say don`t
Seem as certain as on
Hogmanay when we
Kissed at midnight and a
Wee wee Bells had
Gave me courage for my
My heart to tell

I see a
Pale girl in a
Blue room with a
Pink dress and a
Wide smile I need a
Pink smile on a
Dark night from the
Right girl to be
Sure it`s right

CHORUS

Twist and shout
Come on come on baby

I am not sure of the meaning/s but I am fond of the a song.

I see several themes possibilities.

1 A young happy girl, growing up to discover (as we all do) that the world isn't as lovely as we imagined as kids. Searching for her identity and set of values.
The April referred to in the song might be her maturing as an adult and realizing what she thought was right as a young lady (hogmanay) isn't necessarily so. eg Black and white... Now realises there are grey areas inbetween where most things actually are.

2 I might come back to this... The predictive text on this android keyboard is making this a real burden to type out. But basically it could be about the uncertainty of the girls relationship with the singer.

The singer met the girl and at Hogmanay, a drink or two might have been involved, he was falling in love with her. Some time later, he realizes that she is not the right girl for him as she’s too critical about things she does’t know much about (“you’ve got a lot of things to say”) and still has a lot to learn. He’s still looking for the right girl. What is the “right” girl?
