Faithful

I think, no I am sure, this is my all time favorite song. The words, piano, guitar...all come together perfectly. I am in awe every time I listen to it.

But on to the song meaning...

The first verse seems to be saying that she is used to cheating, its something she has grown up with and she has continued the family tradition. Her lover is the only one she really loves everyone else is well there for her pleasure but nothing else.

The second verse is trying to explain why she cheats, out of fear of being alone or forgotten. I wonder if the line "I am satisfied on the flesh I have fed" means that is enough for her as in she doesn't need a real relationship or if it means she is only satisfied for the moment.

And then the guitar and piano take over to help articulate any remorse that she left out of the verses.

*She is explaining to her partner why she is "Unfaithful" and asking her partner for forgiveness.

She was influenced by her father. Her father made no excuses for his "cheating" ways.

Apparently, she's been lying to her partner, and want her partner to believe her. (accept her lies b/c she accepts her lies as the truth). She is pleading for her partner to believe her... (Why won't you eat what you are fed).

She sexual desires her partner (When I touch myself I think of only you) but she is not faithful to her partner. She continues to justify her cheating by saying no one is faithful.

Loneliness triggers her temptation for lust and she gives in by cheating on her partner. The angels represent the opportunity to for her to stop cheating but she ignores them b/c she is to far gone with lust. Giving into lust is how she deals with her emptiness.

She repeats this cheating cycle over and over again; she feels no shame.

She is seeking her partner to forgive her (forgive me for my ways).

This song I am proud of her for creating this one. It's deep I mean it's like she wants to stop cheating but she can't. After seeing her father ways and the angels is there to remind her of love. But still even with them there she can't stop. Its very deep, and that I like because her music have real lyrics but if you just listen to it once. You'd think it was all nasty but if you actually listen and hear the lyrics I actually cried because it's what I also seen around me cheating. But even when alone and your faced with temptation and you squinch and curl up that feeling is still there no matter how hard you try to fight against it. This song I have enjoyed it because it;s nothing but reality in so many of us. Many Many Thanks For This One.
