Takeahnase Lyrics

We are facing a dangerous period ahead
If we do not stop, correct and change some of these wrongdoings now
We are all gonna suffer
Either thing we have made will overtake us or nature will take over

Earthquake, flood, rain, sever drought, sever winter
Lightning destructive, great wind destructive
These things will warn us that we are not following the law of the great spirit

When it begins - Takeahnase - the floods will sever the
christs from the earth. Thieves called it property -
Takeahnase - you'll drown for our mother's disgrace.

We tried to tell you, now let us show you. You'll know
the way. Like spiny fingers you'll separate. You'll
know the way. Takeahnase.

Cold, distorted air - Takeahnase - the blood must flow
to pay for your hour. This human garbage - Takeahnase
- You'll drown for our mother's disgrace.

Burn down.

Takeahnase, i'm not sure, but I think is an native tribe phrase. Or perhaps Greek or Latin. Some ancient language. This is just a guess though. I'm guessing it may mean Apocalypse or something like that to fit the song's meaning.

Probably a punishment, too.

It's probably an American Indian phrase, by the sounds of it. (Listen carefully to the intro.)

Someone actually asked Scott on his Facebook profile about meaning of that word. He said that he made it out.

I think the intro is important for context: ——- We are facing a dangerous period ahead If we do not stop, correct and change some of these wrongdoings now We are all gonna suffer Either thing we have made will overtake us or nature will take over

Earthquake, flood, rain, sever drought, sever winter Lightning destructive, great wind destructive These things will warn us that we are not following the law of the great spirit —— I am unable to track down a source for the voice of the words in the intro but the message is clear. The word Takeahnase may be made up, some have commented that it may be Native American, even more so considering the reference to Great Spirit and the warning issued from what sounds like a genuine Native American in the intro. But if it is made up by a member who perhaps identifies strongly with Native American beliefs it could be considered Native American inspired at least. I feel like the intro is really important for this song’s meaning, I am curious about who that was.

“When it begins - Takeahnase - the floods will sever the christs from the earth. Thieves called it property - Takeahnase - you'll drown for our mother's disgrace.”

The intent was a prophecy, in the “style” of Native Americans. Considering this came out a while ago in many ways this “prophecy” has been coming true and we’re steady on the path of “burn down”.

Side note on this album is one of the heaviest metal albums of all time. Each song is kind of epic, this is one of the “milder” songs, all of the lyrics are dark, scathingly critical of consumerism and nationalism, this song touches on
