Going Nowhere Lyrics
Hate the way that you've taken back
Everything you've given to me
And the way that you'd always say
It's nothing to do with me
Different versions of many men
Come before you came
All their questions was similar
The answers just the same
I'm gonna get me a motor car
Maybe a Jaguar maybe a plane or a day of fame
I wanna be a millionaire so can you take me there
Wanna be wild cos my life's so tame
Here am I, going nowhere on a train
Here am I, growing older in the rain
Everything you've given to me
And the way that you'd always say
It's nothing to do with me
Different versions of many men
Come before you came
All their questions was similar
The answers just the same
Maybe a Jaguar maybe a plane or a day of fame
I wanna be a millionaire so can you take me there
Wanna be wild cos my life's so tame
Here am I, growing older in the rain

Noel has a much better voice than Liam for this song and can relate emotion. I can't imagine Liam lending the same quality to this tune. Noel makes it a brilliant tune instead of just another great oasis song.
Agreed. This was one of the first songs Noel wrote, and I think one of the best.
This song is...wow. Seriously it's better than half the tracks on Morning Glory.
To me this song is about Alan Mcgee (the owner of creation records who signed oasis randomly in 1993 in Scotland drunk). Once you think of it like that, everything makes perfect sense… I guess lots of labels wanted to sign oasis and Noel was pretty picky (because he was a strict leader in the early days)
I love this song too. Very moving this song. I believe its one of the first songs ever written by oasis too as they were making it through the ranks, although I may be wrong. However, its underrated IMO
I love this song especially the backing in the "Here am I, going nowhere on a train. Here am I, growing older in the rain" bit. Brilliant
i find this very emotional and it could be abou your life flashing before your eyes. the sounds are amazing. truly heart wrenching
I think the song is about a guy who has a very boring life and it seems to be ''going nowhere'' and he wants to break out of it but fails to do so.
Anyone else think this sounds very much like a Blur song?
It's a b-side to 1998's 'Stand by Me' for anyone who wanted to know.
