I love this song ^^ It's so insanely high. XD Any idea why he says "L'etat c'est moi", the famous quote of "I am the state"? It doesn't really make sense with the song (though it doesn't make sense in general anyway) So I guess he just said it to rhyme? >

Everyone's right, but I think Doughty's heroin period was largely after he wrote the songs for Ruby Vroom, so it could be someone else - which makes sense because a lot of its second person. But that's contradicted by "scratch myself raw", which is definitely smackhead behavior with a reflexive pronoun. And "I am the state", which makes Doughty Louis XIV the Sun King - or just very high. . Rub a dub is both an opioid person's traditional aversion to bathing and a reference to trying to stay clean. The one thing I can't fit in is yellow # 5, and I don't think its there for any reason other than to be dangerous, artificial color that sounds good when he repeats it.
