My Favorite Things Lyrics
Raindrops on roses,
And whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles
And warm woolen mittens.
Brown paper packages
Tied up with string,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cream colored ponies,
And crisp apple strudel.
Doorbells and sleighbells
And schnitzel with noodles,
Wild geese that fly
With the moon on their wings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad.
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad!
And whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles
And warm woolen mittens.
Brown paper packages
Tied up with string,
These are a few of my favorite things.
And crisp apple strudel.
Doorbells and sleighbells
And schnitzel with noodles,
Wild geese that fly
With the moon on their wings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad.
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad!

Why the heck is this song played as a christmas song? I mean there is a reference to snow but that is about as christmassy as it gets!
effected the world...love this song
You make a good point, Mayor Menley....... Not to mention, that in the musical, it's sung during a summer storm.
You know why this song is played as christmas song? 2 reasons: 1st, it's mostly about how material things can cheer u up 2nd it has that bitter sweetness that's in all the good Christmas songs. Having said that, I hate Christmas music and I love this song, so I would prefer if it wasn't played as one. Oh, wellllll...
God, I love how all the sounds in the words work so well together! especially the 1st and 3rd verses. they feel so good on my lips!
I can't stop singing this song, and I can reach all the notes, Magical!
The song is played as a Christmas song because of the mention of sleigh bells. Sleighs will forever be associated with Christmas, although throughout the winter, various farms throughout the Northern states will have sleigh rides long after Christmas. Look at such songs like "Sleigh Ride" and "Winter Wonderland". These are really winter love songs disguised as Christmas carols because of the mention of these. "White Winter Hymnal" by The Fleet Foxes is another song about winter that doesn\'t get played at Christmas time. Weird.
