Binary Lyrics

Blessed is the man who does prevail
Doomed are the peacemakers when they fail
If hope springs eternal, it never does here
I guess I lost all my hope last year

I tried to steal the moon from the sky
I am lost and lonely, adrift in space
My dreams are haunted by your face
Many years ago on this day
The earth moved away as I stayed in place
And I'm still waiting

(Chorus)
Binary star
I love you more by far
Than this whole world of things untrue
If only I could say I love you

Blessed are the meek, they shall inherit
The right to stumble and to fall and perish
Blessed are the drifters, the stars that die
Whose light expires before goodbye

I tried to steal the moon from the sky
The days they break like waves on the shore
And still these words mean nothing more
And in the dark I climb the slope
The bravest thing of all is always hope
And I'm still waiting

omg, i can't believe there are no posts for this song! this is a great one! well, neways. this song speaks to me a lot, because when i broke up with my boyfriend, i felt like such a weakling. the song reminded me "the bravest thing of all is always hope." and i did hope. and i continue to hope. hope is freedom. but even deeper, this song is about how when a relationship ends, and you just feel like if you never met that person, never hoped, never held them close, then your world would be better. and sometimes we tend to think that it would've been better if things happened that way, but we mustn't believe such things.

These aren't the right lyrics. These are the demo's lyrics.

blessed is the man who does prevail doomed are the peacemakers when they fail if hope springs eternal it never does here i guess i lost all my hope last year i tried to steal the moon from the sky i am lost and lonely i drift in space my dreams are haunted by her face blessed are the drifters, the stars that die whose light expires, before goodbyes goodbye, goodbye

binary star you're the brightest blue by far and up against the starry sea i thought that you were meant for me

blessed are the meek who shall inherit the throes of death for all their merit the right to stumble, to fall and perish doomed are those who hold and cherish i tried to steal the moon from the sky you hide behind your broken wings your dreams are all for better things and in the dark we climb this slope cause the bravest thing is always hope goodbye, goodbye

The beginning of the song is an iinnerchange of biblical proverbs/ideas...taking them and switching part of the words to make them seem contradictory to the original meaning but also effectively conveying an emotion that people genuinely seem to have. The other meanings are difficult for me to figure out but I think that it could be either about a girl or God or both somehow. Its a man who is lost in a spaceship...the light of some binary star has left him and thats a metaphor for a girl who left him and now he's alone. Its also about teh misery of someone who has done what is right and continues to try to do what is right but still remains without love or light from the star. Its about someone hoping for things to change and in the meantime just waiting.

Or perhaps its about a struggle to be righteous but feeling lost while grappling between faith and unbelief.

This song is about the same girl that "Moon Burns Bright" was written about, after she and Reese broke up. It is written in such a way that it contradicts what one would usually think because he was so sure of one way and then finding out another.
