I know we never meant to fall
The moment that my eyes met yours
Our hearts went tumbling
Before we knew what happened

And now that I am looking back
Ya know I get the feeling that
We started givin' up
Just to keep from givin' in

I still find hope in what little words we say
And I'm holding on in a big big way

So if you ever change your mind
I'll be waiting first in line
You can hang your toothbrush next to mine
It's up to you
It's up to you
Your toothbrush next to mine

Every time I look at you
I don't know how to hold on to
The way I think and feel and breathe
When I'm around you

Oh, we've been down the roughest roads
I know we've gone so far, and come so close

So if you ever change your mind
I'll be waiting first in line
You can hang your toothbrush next to mine
It's up to you
It's up to you

Sometimes I sit inside your chair
I try to see what you saw from there
Too much too soon
But I've got so much to share

I still find hope in what little words we say
And I'm holding on in a big, big way

So if you ever change your mind
I'll be waiting first in line
You can hang your toothbrush next to mine
It's up to you

Yeah, if you ever change your mind
Then I'll be waiting first in line
You can hang your toothbrush next to mine
It's up to you
Your toothbrush next to mine...
It's up to you

This band is not too well known, but I really like this song. It'd exactly how it went for me one time.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
