As a joke, the band members initially played along with the common assumption that the song was about Rosanna Arquette, who was dating Toto keyboard player Steve Porcaro at the time and coincidentally had the same name

i love the way this song changes up first time i heard it Clay was singing it and i fell in love with the way the drums sound live.
^ yup. Anyone know why its used so much in Scrubs? well I can only remember twice, but they were random bit that could have used any song, but chose to use Rosanna. My guess is Bill Lawrence must really like ot or something.

If I recall correctly, the keyboard player dated Rosanna Arquette for a while and dumped him for some Hollywood big-shot. Strangely enough though, one of the other guys wrote the song, not the keyboard player. Good song, though. I always enjoy hearing the little musical intricasies that accompany the song, but not pervade it.
