Dangerous Lyrics

You pack your bag. You take control.
You're moving into my heart and into my soul.
Get out of my way!
Get out of my sight!
I won't be walking on thin ice to get through the night.

Hey, where's your work? What's your game?
I know your business but I don't know your name...

Hold on tight,
you know she's a little bit dangerous.
She's got what it takes to make ends meet
the eyes of a lover that hit like heat.
You know she's a little bit dangerous.

You turn around, so hot and dry.
You're hiding under a halo, your mouth is alive.

Get out of my way! Get out of my sight!
I'm not attracted to go-go deeper tonight.

Hey, what's your word? What's your game?
I know your business but I don't know your name...

Hold on tight...

She's armed and she's extremely dangerous...

I guess she's supposed to be a prostitute or something, but some man is attracted to her even though they don't know each other's name. She's a typical wild, young girl. Freedom. Dangerous. But somehow she's pretty and everyone likes her from the outside only... Overall, this is my favorite song from Roxette. I love this song!

I actually have a question. Is it about a prostitute? When I hear it, I thought that was what it was about. "Hey where's your work? What's your game? I know your business but I don't know your name" "She's got what it takes to make ends meet" To me it sounds kind of like he's in love with a prostitute or something. Someone help me out?

My Interpretation

I always thought it was about a strong, take charge "new age" 90s woman. As sexy and enticing as ever but with the added edge of being able to compete in both romance and business. Though I admit that this impression may have been inspired by the fact that I was introduced to this song around the same time that my mom was watching Melrose Place.

The theme is simple, it's about a man who's attracted and intimidated by a femme fatale. The Femme Fatale recognizes her singularity and that she's just a little bit dangerous.

Alright, I am sure that this isnt just me, but this is too obviously about an out-of-bounds woman. However, I keep hearing references to drugs. Perhaps I can relate it to using drugs.

Hi, I came here because I've had a couple of lines stuck in my head for days now. Pop F'n pop.... anyway, not sure I agree with the working girl idea. In my opinion the person holding their own has a slight twist here.

You turn around, so hot and dry - needy, turn around look at me. Attractive but not committed. You're hiding under a halo, your mouth is alive - narcissistic hiding under a halo, not selfaware. Could be said like above "free spirited" or carefree.

I think the songs lyrics or storyline is backwards. Whilst perfect the way it is. Just my interpretation.

You pack your bag, you take control You're moving into my heart and into my soul Get out of my way, get out of my sight I won't be walking on thin ice to get through the night

These 4 lines should be the end of the song. But they are not.

Pack bag, take control. - Narcissistic trait. Moving into heart and soul. - sharing secrets to gain a level of trust. Then using the secrets to manipulate. (Wait I know that's a jump). Get out of my way and sight. - now who's saying this? Think about the next line. I won't be on thin ice to get through the night.....

So I think the last 2 lines work well for both parties. "Fuck off I don't need your shit"

So 2 Narcissistic people. 2 people that are volatile and only think of themselves. "Hey what's your word" trying gauge a moral compass. How far are they willing to take this. Just a little bit dangerous. Armed and dangerous, not trigger happy. Just got what is required to get what is needed. No mention of greed or anything physical. Sounds like 2 people who know each other's game.

I'm not attracted to go, go deeper tonight. - deeper into mentally draining interactions. Gaslighting for example.

Doesn't rule out "prostitute". I seem to draw more from the lines not mentioned in previous comments. Thanx for reading.

This is about a guy who is attracted to a girl who is both attractive and scary. She is scary because she is unlike anyone he has ever known before and he is afraid of the unknown. He tries to make himself think she is nothing but a game player but deep down he knows that he's just lying to himself because she's everything he ever wanted. He wants to protect himself from it but he is realizing that he likes being in the line of danger-especially because there may be nothing to fear. The passion seems dangerous because of the saying-Too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
