This is my, my goodbye to a blue-eyed girl,
My farewell to forever.
No long last kiss, only this:
Someone coming to their senses.
It's taken me a long, long time to get here.
But she's so far from what she was,
She doesn't need me like before,
There's been too much forgetting.
For that part of her busy life,
That part for me she sets aside,
It's time to stop living.
I don't know what my future is,
I just know who it isn't with.
My farewell to forever.
No long last kiss, only this:
Someone coming to their senses.
It's taken me a long, long time to get here.
But she's so far from what she was,
She doesn't need me like before,
There's been too much forgetting.
For that part of her busy life,
That part for me she sets aside,
It's time to stop living.
I don't know what my future is,
I just know who it isn't with.

This completely describes the last relationship I was in. What really hits me, is that after all the excuses, problems, and hardships, when she swore to be my best friend still, but then a few weeks later she slowly started ignoring me and our conversations became one-sided, and we finally stopped talking, and the second paragraph of this song completely embodied what I felt then.
Hearing this song always makes me feel better about that aspect in my life, makes me feel better about moving on.
I always heard the last line of the second section, and think the song makes more sense, as, "...time to START living."
