Hear that lonesome whippoorwill?
He sounds too blue to fly.
The midnight train is whining low:
I'm so lonesome I could cry.

I've never seen a night so long,
When time goes crawling by.
The moon just went behind a cloud,
To hide its face and cry.

Did you ever see a Robin weep,
When leaves begin to die?
That means he's lost his will to live.
I'm so lonesome I could cry.

The silence of a falling star,
Lights up a purple sky.
And as I wonder where you are,
I'm so lonesome I could cry.
I'm so lonesome I could cry.

General Commentno one like him since is right, but his grandson, Hank Williams III is sure damn close. check out "5 Shots of Whiskey", "Lonesome For You", or "If The Shoe Fits". all sorts of talent in that family. i`m pretty sure Lucinda Williams is related as well, and she is one of the best female country artists out there.
