No Second Thoughts Lyrics

She threw down her golden band
Crushed it with her feet into the sand
Took her silent partner by the hand
Yeah yeah oh yeah yeah

Somewhere near the edge of town
She said she was torn and turned around
"Can you help me cast this evil down?"
Yeah yeah oh yeah yeah

We'll drive for the line now
There's nothing to be lost
You and I will cross over
With no second thoughts

We'll drive for the line now
There's nothing to be lost
You and I will cross over
With no second thoughts

Dreams fade hope dies hard
She cups her eyes looks out at the stars
Says, "I feel we've traveled very far"
Yeah yeah oh yeah yeah
Yeah yeah oh yeah yeah
Yeah yeah oh yeah yeah

This song sends shivers up my spine. In a good way.

I may be totally off base, but I always though her "silent partner" was a gun and that the song was about a woman who left her husband and killed herself (cross over).

obviously the end of one relationship ( throwing away the "golden band" wedding ring) and embarking on a new adventure. I love the line "Dreams fade hope dies hard". How true. But when you realize that somehow you can move on easier.

To me, it sounds like the woman was in an abusive marriage. Now she is escaping and starting over with someone else.
