This is by far one of my favorite song by The Cramps. Its about how some people hide things from relationships. Or theyll just hide themselves and act totally different. And he pretty much wants to know what shes hiding and why its so bad and why shes hiding it.

I agree with below, but I think the concept might of been inspired by The Phantom of The Opera. (since they are known for B-movie references)
