Woah. Love this song. He's basically saying that he's finally gonna break out and get over her once and for all. It sounds as if he's trying to prove to someone that he's stong enough to do so. He still sounds sad. I love how he says that he'll never be imprisoned by a faded memory, eventhough he already is
My absolute favorite Poco song... though I'm not sure why.

He's not breaking away from anything. He wants to, but can't. It's what he tells himself and his friends. But then we see him reminiscing on the food times.
This song is one of the few that drive the heartache of lost love pretty close to where it lives. It's crazy how long some of us can hold on to a memory. Love can be a drug, and when lose it it's hell. There should be support groups. Oh wait, they're down at the bar....
