Untied Lyrics

Cut off.. quickly.. two inch life,
killing.. slowly.. died through those eyes.
Sweating.. shaking.. etched on your face,
bending.. breaking.. burning away.

I'm so lost, that I've slipped.

Too far.. cant die.. split clean.. open wide.

Grateful.. hateful.. you're so insane,
take a.. face full.. of all this pain.
Falling.. crawling.. through all your shame,
time is.. calling.. no one left to blame.

I'm so lost, that I've slipped.

Too far.. cant die.. split clean.. open wide.

So lost.. so wrong.. so lost.. so long.. I'm gone.

Well.. this is the most chilled out song by the band by far! From any CD! Its just all around another great song by this great band!

What a hidden masterpiece. I'm especially amazed by the lyrics since they are generally more straight-forward from this band.

Seems to me like it's about someone who doesn't have anyone to relate to and keeps being pulled down by his depressions. On top of that already as far as doing self-harming and actively thinking about suicide. Still there's always the thought "I've made it this far, should I really give up at this point?" which prevents the person from really ending their life. The second verse also seems to hint that this person used to search for a scapegoat for everything that went wrong (who doesn't?), but since they are all alone for some time now that didn't work out anymore.

The whole vibe of the song seems to fit well with that interpretation - it's kind of seclusive as a whole - plus there's always a short scream in the chorus that quickly sounds much more desperate with the melodic second word...it kinda fits these depression-mixture of negative emotions.
