Even without looking at 3eb there's another great way to take this song, the way I prefer because it's a good lesson: if everyone likes you, there's something very, very wrong.
It's easy to be a poser, to kiss ass, go with everything they say, but doing so makes you lose your identity so you're just a part of some other person/group. When someone hates you, you're unique.
supposedly this song is about stephan jenkins of third eye blind (jason slater is 3eb's ex-bassist). tobey torres has appeared in 3eb's videos for semi-charmed life (green turtleneck, dancing in front of a couch), and jumper (with the bra top on near the end of the video).
that doesn't make any sense. what a retard. why would it be about a sucky bands member? tobey is insane. she's fucking great in other words...it's probably about some guy or girl she met at a party hell, she is bi.
Well, it'd be about 3rd Eye BLind because Jason, who is the main driving force behind SRC, used to be their bassist.
Whoever is saying that it's about a member of third eye blind might have some inside info or something because I would have never guessed anything like that but it sort of makes sense. I don't know much about Jason Slater's involvement with teb but if you read the liner notes of their first CD he is listed under the Thank Yous. Oh well last I heard he was suing Tobey. Also who said she was bi? She's married to one of guitarists from this band.
