#34 Lyrics
Oh my head lay back on the seating
Been so tired throw away my surrounding
Like the sun and moon take for granted
Soon we move through the flood and we fade away
Lie about it
Cry about it
We'll be ok
Lean upon me
I'll lean upon you
We'll be ok
Oh I lay myself at your feet laughing
Hope mine eye made of the soul choir
Lean upon me
I'll lean upon you
We'll be ok
Lie about it
Cry about it
Soon fade away
Lie about it
Cry about it
We'll be ok
Lean upon me
I'll lean upon you
We'll be ok
Been so tired throw away my surrounding
Like the sun and moon take for granted
Soon we move through the flood and we fade away
Lie about it
Cry about it
We'll be ok
Lean upon me
I'll lean upon you
We'll be ok
Oh I lay myself at your feet laughing
Hope mine eye made of the soul choir
Lean upon me
I'll lean upon you
We'll be ok
Lie about it
Cry about it
Soon fade away
Lie about it
Cry about it
We'll be ok
Lean upon me
I'll lean upon you
We'll be ok

This song is absolutely beautiful..when it is live...and when it has words.
I've never heard it with words but it was a good song to dedicate because even the music sounds like a peaceful memory. You can just hear it. It's like a theme song to you sitting and thinking of happy times before, and then how much you really miss them. The words don't say the same, so I'd like to hear how they're used. I really need to go to his concert NOW....
This song didn't start out as an instrumental...it had words. The man he dedicated it to helped me write it, and after he died, Dave never sang the words. Well, that's what I've read. It's a beautiful instrumental, it reminds me of Satellite in some ways.
I consider myself a diehard fan, so I was quite supprised to not have know the words to this song.....i always loved #34 without lyrics...i just downloaded the version with...i think its great. I don't care what people say. Dave is the man.
im sorry, but ill have to dissagree with Gena. i believe this song, and most of the songs on its album Under The Table and Dreaming, were dedicated to dave matthews sister, Anne, who had just died. this song "#34" is called so because she was 34 when she died. I have herd the version w/ lyrics, and it is very clear that it is about a deciesed person. acctually, on the album case, it says in plane print, "in memory of anne."
by just died, i mean died previously to the album.
uhh okay, well this song is about Miguel Valdez. It definitely isnt about Anne. It is called #34 only because the band could not come up with a name for the song. Usually, if the band cannot think of a name for a song, they ask their sound man, Fenton. And if Fenton can't think of anything, they leave the song name as the number in which they wrote the song chronologically. Hence, #36, #40 and #41.
i highly disagree
sheatay is right
