So is it goodbye?
Is it time to set you free?
Is it time to let it fly?
Is it time to let it bleed
We used to take turns
To cover up the pain
Deep below it burns
And the fellin' still remains
You're gonna find someone new
I really hope you do
'Cause I love you
And the sun will come on through,
It's gonna shine for you
'Cause I adore you
Yes we gave it a try
But maybe for too long
Out of every sorrow
Another day will dawn
You're gonna find someone new
I really hope you do
'Cause I love you
And the sun will come on through,
It's gonna shine for you
'Cause I adore you
And the road travels on
But I'm still near you
In my life, like a song
I will still hear you
Still
Sun will shine for you
'Cause I adore you...

I adore MikeDeciphers’ interpretation of the song. But too bad I can only relate to it in the relationship I have with one of my friends of four years.

So is it goodbye? Is it time to set you free? Is it time to let it fly? Is it time to let it bleed

Since I’ve known him, he’s always liked me. At some point every year, I’ll start to like him. But each time we gave it a try, we’d always end up friends. For me, I want to leave this city now. I know it’ll hurt us both, but I think it’s time we let each other “bleed” instead of forcing ourselves to heal.

We used to take turns To cover up the pain Deep below it burns And the fellin' still remains

I relate to the pain with the feelings we get each time we both do end up going for it. Each time we gave it a try and it didn’t work out, we’d cover it up. We’ll insist staying friends, which we do. He’ll claim he’s let it go when now I know it’s never been true. For me the feelings do leave, but for him it will always remain.

You're gonna find someone new I really hope you do 'Cause I love you And the sun will come on thru, It's gonna shine for you 'Cause I adore you

I want him to find someone new. We can’t go on doing this every year. I adore him and love him.

Yes we gave it a try But maybe for too long Out of every sorrow Another day will dawn

We try it every year. And now it’s feeling like too much. Every time we get hurt. But then we manage to pull through and go back to being friends.

You're gonna find someone new I really hope you do 'Cause I love you And the sun will come on thru, It's gonna shine for you 'Cause I adore you

I know he wants me to be with someone too. I’ve been with other guys and each time he’s wanted me happy. And whenever it doesn’t work out with that other guy, he wants to be the crap out of them.

And the road travels on But I'm still near you In my life, like a song I will still hear you Still

Though I plan on leaving, I know we’ll still be near in some way. Whether its’ through my status and updates online or word of mouth through our friends, I know we can’t entirely separate, because I know some how or someway, we’ll find out what’s going on in each others’ life. Even if we do stop talking, we’ll both know no matter what what’s going on in each others’ life.

Sun will shine for you 'Cause I adore you...

As far as I know, I have hope things will in the end, work out for us one way or another. Whether it really is through another person or with each other. Everything will be alright.

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
