Johnny Cash was a man that could take any song and make it his. When doing a song that had been recorded by someone else, he usually improved the song. However good his version of this song is, and it is good, it isn't better than Kristofferson's.
I suggest that anyone that doesn't know how Cash came to do this song read a bit about it, it's a nice story.

the third line isnt 'it didnt hurt' it is part of the 2nd line and it says 'THAT didnt hurt'
Great song any young, single musician can relate to.
Cash version is excellent, but there's something about Kris singing this song and of course, his other songs. Kris's voice has a kinda vibe that adds to the tune. It's unique.
