Lie in our Graves is a song about how sometimes we feel regret for something that we were not something we could of been, or do something we could have. I love this song mainly because of the uplifting guitar rift he plays during the chorus.
This song is about having no regrets, and not looking back. Awesome song. The background noise is them playing ping pong durin the recordig process. Pretty cool shit.
i understand that this is about having nor regret but seriously, doesnt this song make everyone feel happy? i love it! the music and all the references to water, splashing, and baths make me feel so free. freedom is beautiful. that is what dave is trying to relay i think. live with freedom and you will have no regrets.

this is by far one of the best songs DMB has ever made. its incredibly amazing. i mean, the title is so strange for it to be such a happy sounding song, but it doesnt matter cause its music is so powerful. if only they could get lillywhite sessions in the stores, and get the band back in the studio with lillywhite, dmb could add to their collection of many amazing songs. its just my opinion, i could be wrong.
Dude I so agree, The lillywhite session songs are wonderful, but I think DMB was ready for a change in syle and sound, like they demonstrated in Everyday. But, this is song is great, one of my favs! I just sal DMB live in Houston and they played this song, it was so powerful. Anyone who has not seen DMB live, I strongly advise to do so!
to me, this song just says to live life to the fullest and enjoy everything that you enjoy, and try new things. there is always the possibility you won't be albe to do think tomorrow than what you can do tonight. that amazing riff they have in the middle just engulfs everything that is this song. from the "somewhere over the rainbow" part to the silent part where you think the song is over, it is the most enjoyable thing to me. if that made no sense to you, i don't blame you. i'm sorry for the lack of skills i have with writing how i feel, but hopefully you understand. that wind down makes the last "i can't believe that we would lie in our graves" such a rush. i feel high when i listen to this. it's just such a good message. LIVE LIFE TO IT'S FULLEST.
