You are Not Alone Lyrics

She sees him laying in the bed alone tonight
Only thing touching him is a crack of light
Pieces of her hair are wrapped around and 'round his fingers
And he reaches for her side, for any sign of her that lingers

And she says you are not alone
Laying in the light
Put out the fire in your head
And lay with me tonight

One of them bullets went straight for the jugular vein
There were people running
A flash of light
Then everything changed
Nothing really matters in the end you know
All the worrys sever
Don't be afraid for me my friend
One day we all fall down forever

And you are not alone
Laying in the light
Put out the fire in your head
And lay with me tonight

Her wedding date was June just like any other bride
She loved him like no one before
It was good to be alive
But sometimes that can slip away as fast
As any fingers through your hands
So you let time forgive the past and
Go and make some other plans

And you are not alone
Laying in the light
Put out the fire in your head
And lay with me tonight
You are not alone
Laying in the light
Put out the fire in your head
And lay with me tonight

I think this song is about a girl who died and has come back to comfort her fiance and tell him that she is still with him in spirit. If so, it is a very sweet, but tragic song and a lesson to us all that we must love with everything we have while we have our loved ones with us.

This is a really beautiful song, I found it about 3 years ago and never knew who it was by. So gorgeous and sad at the same time, and true, about a girl who's died and is back in some form to comfort the man she loved. tear-jerker.

sadly i heard this song was based on a true story of two women who were killed when a man walked into a planned parenthood and started shooting. One of the women, Shannon Lowney, was to be married later that year.

I first heard this song years ago in a movie i think was called Niagra,Niagra.....It stayed with me....What a beautiful and powerful song this is. And when I came into this website and people explained what the song means it only made it more powerful to me......I doubt I will ever forget this song....

I adore Patty Griffin, and this song -- whenever it comes on, I always think of the movie Moonlight Mile, with Susan Sarandon and Jake Gyllenhaal -- in the movie, Jake's fiancee is killed by a stray bullet in a diner shoot-out. There's more to the story then just that, but it just makes me think of the movie, dealing with the bullet, and the wedding date. It's a very beautiful, sad, moving song.
