the one thing that i don't think is consistant with her being dead is when he touches her face she starts to smile. she's obviously sixteen years old, very young for all the terriblness of love. i assume the guy is older. maybe it's her birthday now and that;s why he came to see her. he comes in and sees her, her cigarette has been burning for awhile so the ash has fallen on her hands. i imagine they have some form of sexual relationship since he just goes in there while she's naked and starts talking to her. well she's obviously tryin to commit suicide. i imagine by ways of pills and alcohol, so she's probably half passed out half awake, so she just seems unconsious. he finds the note, thinks she's dead and looks at her awhile and feels awful, but when he goes down to touch her she smiles a little still being a little consious and he wishes he loved her so she wouldn't have done such a terrible thing. it's not sixteen candles down the drain because she's dead, they're down the drain because this will mess up her youth, she'll probably go through a lot becuase of an attempted suicide and maybe even be committed for awhile. |

a transvestite falls in love with a man and never tells him she's a he. when he finds out, he freaks out and kills her, and at home her family is waiting for her, but she never comes home. it reminds me of a few television episodes i've seen, like this one from alley mcbeal where a transvestite says he just wants to die pretty and when he does they go into the morgue and put make up on her. |

i just read the novel 1984 and i think this song has a lot to do with it. the society is a strick toletarian police state that forces you to only think in one certain way. the government heads are opressing everyone. in the song "We" is the party and it gets in side winston's head and shows him how to function in just the right way. they inspire shame, are conservative and stern "the arms are crossed" and all the people are separated into three main levels, inner party, outer party, and the proles. and oceania is a bitter land. the proles separate from the inner party the most, who are the people who disregard everyone the most. oceania is the bitter land. i'm such a nerd. |

it seems to be about a person who's growing up and doesn't have many friends or any girlfriends. he tries to impress peopel ith his toys and pools but still he feels like he's chasing people trying to get them to be his friend. and eventually he feels like no one there cares so he's either just going to leave or kill himself depending on how you interpret "gone" in the song. |

Oh no no no I'm a rocket man " family thinks highly of him but he's not a good father or husband because he keeps leaving. "Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids" he tells his son never to be like him because of how the life is and how he can't tear himself away. I kinda see like, a guy being in love with a girl and strangling her. you hear about all those homicide suicides...its like the guy is setting both of them on fire...he loves her so much and he doens't want to let her go.

He doesn't want to admit its over adn he won't let her end it so he kills them both. thats what i get out of it. its a good song none the less |

i thought this song was more about, like the guy thought this girl was so great and everything but then the dude realized, underneath all that good stuff, this chic pretty much sucks as a human being. in the other version, with teh grave part in it, its liek he's trying to bury all his feelings for this girl cause she's just a terrible person |
