| System of a Down – Psycho Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
I still think that System of a Down has a strong religious message trought the album, and I think this song could also talk about religion. About the "groupies" of religion, the people who don't question it and follow it blindly. The "cocaine", religion making them feel good, promising good thing for their death and addicting them and telling them how to think, exactly like a drug addict. "psycho, crazy" because those people are dangrous when you question their beliefs. Makes you high, makes you hide,(religion keeps you from thinking and provides answers to your questions, thus hiding you from the truth. Best exemple is the creation(the genesis)) Makes you really want to go- stop (religion promises you heaven, it makes you wanna die) Do you really want to think and stop, Stop your eyes from flowing out (start thinking by yourself) So you want the world to stop, Stop in and watch your body fully drop, From the time you were a Psycho, groupie, cocaine, crazy, (you've started to free yourself from religion, your former believer self is dropping) So you want to see the show, You really don't have to be a ho (you don't have to believe to have a life or something like that) Probably that it was not intended to talk about religion, but once again, I think it fits well. |

| System of a Down – Bounce Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
I think it could be interpreted in a religious way. The "I" being Jesus, the "pogo stick", his miracles or his prophecy or si ply the text in the bible. I went out on a date, With a girl, a bit late, She had so many friends, Gliding through many hands. I brought my pogo stick, Just to show her a trick, She had so many friends, Gliding through many hands. Jesus has only one apostrial(spelling?) in the beginning but then he had more and more because he told them many things and done manky things. I don't think the song was meant to be about religion, but when you look at the lyrics it could make sense. |

| System of a Down – Needles Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
I'm just sitting in my room, With a needle in my hand, Just waiting for the tomb, Of some old dying man, That's some good poetry here. This song for me is about drugs. |

| Tool – Aenema Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
Okay, awesome song. The song is maybe also about the end of the world, how we have no power against that. SO instead of fearing it, accepting it, accept that someday the world will end and this acceptation is potrayed by the "learn to swim". We should ne worry about the end of the world, but about the present, about living. Great metaphor! |

| Tool – Third Eye Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This is Tool's Stairway to heaven. | |
| Tool – Reflection Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| The last words "before we pine away" are sang in the end with such a passion, it,s awesome. "pine away" might mean "before we end up destroying ourselves". | |
| Tool – Disposition Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Watch the waether change = Watch our relationship evolve into something strong and beautiful, as a unity, sine being an unity seems to be a strong theme trought the album. Also the "mention this to me" could just be "tell me "I love you". With such a beautiful melody, I can't think of anything else than love for the theme. Such as strong, powerful, beautiful, passionate, deep melody can only be related to love. | |
| Tool – Ticks and Leeches Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
It's about religion and christianity. They "suck up" everytinhg we have and "Turn our blood cold and bitter". |

| Tool – Parabola Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I really like the video of parabola. The first part is probably about meterialism, the ending being those "capitalists" vommiting their money (potrayed byt sh*t) . Which is not the real way of evolving, of living, money is an illusion. Then the other part shows the way of living your life. Trying to understand, to think. When the "little man" gets killed, the man does an autopsy and seems to understand something, to accept his relality and acceptes to be alive. Then he goes down and takes a leaf and here comes the awesome CGI. There I think it show the man "Opening his third eye", pushing our thereshold to a new limit, and in the end using his mind at 100%, becoming energy, being in harmony with everyone. That's just my 2 cents. This song is simply mind-blowing, I'm still loving everysecond of it after 1 year of intense listening. | |
| Tool – The Patient Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
This is about a man that has cancer (the "vampire") that waits for dying, he is patient and does not rush it, but know that in the end, something better after death is coming. "If there were no rewards to reap No loving embrace to see me through " Maybe the reward is to become eternal. "I must keep reminding myself of this " Reminding that we are all one conciousness, one mind. That when you die, you become eternal, you are a part of the conciousness, dying is only a step in your existence, you must not be affraid of it. |
|
| Tool – Schism Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| You are all right about the "relationship" part, but I don't think it,s a relationship between 2 lovers/friends, but a relationship between your BODY and your MIND. It tells you to accept your body and your mind to "communicate" to make yourself one unity. | |
