Our Lady Peace – Waited Lyrics

I always figured this song was about a girl that some guy couldn't get over and just keeps waiting for, even though she's not coming back. |

Our Lady Peace – Superman's Dead Lyrics

I was really into this song when I started seriously doubting my religon that I was deeply immersed in. I related Superman being dead to everything I once believed in as a total fabrication. And I saw the false happiness as the blind, image-conscious behavior I was living as a member of my church. The ordinary name and ordinary waist deal I related to problems with eating disorders and low self-esteem. I guess I was really off on the true meaning of the song, but that's the great thing about music: anyone can bring their own interpretation into it. Who knows, maybe I'm just stupid. |

Our Lady Peace – Are You Sad? Lyrics

You can hear the sadness and sympathy in Raine's voice for the person he is singing to/about, but this song never lifts my spirits. Even though he says someone shouldn't be sad, that doesn't mean they won't be. |

Our Lady Peace – Is Anybody Home? Lyrics

I think this song just focuses on the pathetic sadness of society, and how nothing seems genuine and true. Like Rebecca says, everything is messed up. You can't find meaning in the world, and you wonder if anyone else can. It seems to me as though when Raine asks if anyone is home, he wants to know if home is out there, or if everyone feels out of place and alone. But who knows, I could be totally off. This could be a song that everyone interprets in his or her own way, and that's my interpretation. |
